Trementum has worked with the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) on the technical development of its digital tools, turning research methodologies and complex financial data into interactive, open-access products.
Trementum’s role has focused on the technical layer: web development, interactive data visualisation, internal data-management tools and ongoing development of the applications.
At the centre of the collaboration is the Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index (CBECI), which provides continuously updated estimates of the Bitcoin network’s electricity consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions alongside mining geography and comparative data.
Trementum helped develop and maintain the technical system that presents these models through live charts, maps, controls and downloadable data. The index automatically updates its power and emissions data every 24 hours.
The collaboration expanded into other areas of financial research.
The Cambridge Digital Money Dashboard brings together regularly updated data on stablecoins and other forms of digital money, covering adoption, transaction flows, peg stability, reserves, geography and stablecoin regulation.
The Cambridge DeFi Navigator maps the decentralised finance ecosystem through interactive taxonomy, adoption metrics and value-flow views.
The Global Regulatory Innovation Dashboard gives regulators and researchers a global view of digital asset regulation, open banking and finance, regulatory sandboxes and other innovation initiatives.
Together, these tools give CCAF a technical framework for publishing research as living data products that can evolve as datasets, markets and methodologies change.
If you’d like to see how Trementum Platform could work on your data, we can prepare a live demo tailored to your use cases.
