Trementum

is a research and technology company focused on large-scale analysis of social media and online platforms. We combine a robust data and analytics platform with hands-on investigative work – from disinformation and coordinated inauthentic behaviour to elections, national security and corporate risk.

Our story

Trementum began in 2017 as a small research group exploring some of the hardest problems in online information: disinformation campaigns, hate speech, election manipulation, threats to children and psychological operations on social media. At that stage we were building custom data pipelines and running one-off investigations for partners who needed deeper, more honest answers than generic dashboards could provide.

In 2020 we incorporated Trementum as a company and started turning our internal tooling into a proper product. What began as ad-hoc scripts and bespoke analyses evolved into reusable methods and, ultimately, into Trementum Platform – our own infrastructure for cross-platform data collection, monitoring and analysis.

Today Trementum is a compact but highly specialised, distributed team of more than ten senior professionals in data science, software engineering and disinformation research, supported by a broader network of partner organisations that contribute to development and data sourcing. We work with European institutions, national authorities, international organisations, media, advocacy groups and financial sector clients to provide structured, evidence-based insight into how online platforms are used and misused – and to turn that insight into practical tools for supervision, investigations and risk assessment.
